First of all.. What are Vinyl Tiles?

Vinyl tiles are used worldwide both commercially and in homes. Over the years, they have increased in popularity due to its sleek look and low-maintenance qualities. Waterproof Vinyl tiles

While many floor alternatives claim to be water-resistant, vinyl tiles are fully waterproof thanks to its multiple layers of polyvinyl chloride (PVC). This makes them a great choice for commercial properties that see a lot of heavy foot traffic, as they can withstand frequent spillages which require a simple wipe down. Additionally, most manufacturers now offer a slip resistant option on luxury vinyl tiles, which can help reduce possible accidents.

It’s important to mention that vinyl tiles should be installed professionally in order to reap their water proof benefits. For example, with Luxury Vinyl tiles, they come in individual planks which results in multiple seams in the flooring. So while the tiles themselves are waterproof, if installed incorrectly, water can seep through the seams which can cause long term issues. Are they Durable?

As well as being waterproof, vinyl tiles are extremely durable due to its many layers. It’s not a material that requires continuous caution to reduce wear or prevent expensive damage, meaning you can get on with day-to-day tasks freely. Vinyl tiles are known to not dent and scratch as much as wooden flooring, due to most reputable manufacturers adding a built in scratch and stain guard, which is common with most luxury vinyl tiles. Due to this, vinyl tiles are a great choice for commercial spaces as they can withstand the heavy footfall.

When installed and looked after properly, they can last in a commercial or residential property for 10-20 years.

Are Vinyl Tiles Okay for Bathrooms?

Yes! Luxury vinyl tiles are a great choice for bathrooms, wet rooms and shower rooms. As mentioned above, thanks to its numerous layers of PVC, luxury vinyl tiles can withstand the amount of water and changes in humidity that are likely to be present in a bathroom.
